Employment Office License Issuance Request

This service is provided by the Labour Market Regulatory Authority to Individuals and Businesses requesting to obtain a license to open an office to mediate in the recruitment of domestic workers and their equivalents, expatriate workers and Bahrainis.

   Required Documents

For the initial approval:

  1. Employment Office License Issuance Request form
  2. Copy of the valid Identity Card
  3. Copy of the valid passport
  4. Good conduct certificate form the Ministry of Interior
  5. Bank statement for the applicant or an establishment owned by the licensee, including the guarantee amount of BD 10,000 (ten thousand Bahraini Dinar)
  6. A Manager’s cheque with the guarantee amount of BD 10,000 (ten thousand Bahraini Dinar)
  7. A receipt deposit with the guarantee amount of BD 10,000 (ten thousand Bahraini Dinar) transferred to the Authority’s bank account
  8. Copy of the Articles of Association, for businesses
  9. Copy of the Commercial Registrations for the applicant (if applicable)

 

Final approval:

 

  1. Copy of the registration certificate in the Commercial Registration
  2. Copy of the rental agreement for the business premises and accommodation for female domestic employees and their equivalents
  3. Copy of the electricity bill for the premises and accommodation for female domestic employees and their equivalents
  4. Ministry of Health’s approval for the business premises and female domestic employees’ accommodation
  5. Ministry of Labour and Social Development approval regarding the employment of Bahrainis
  6. Exterior and interior photos of the business premises and the accommodation for female domestic employees
  7. Copy of the agreement set to mediate between the employment office and the employer, and the agreement between the employer and the expatriate
  8. Employment office payment receipt
  9. License issuance fees payment receipt

   Important notes

  • Readiness:
  1. The business premises should be established according to the specifications set by the Authority
  2. The license certificate should be displayed in a visible place at the licensee’s premises
  • Exceptions:
The applicant should not hire a minor employee or a person that is not allowed to work according to the Kingdom of Bahrain legislation
  • Others:
  1. The employment office should be under the licensee’s management
  2. The office should be in a separate place for any other activity
  3. The applicant should notify the Authority in case of changing or updating any information in the original application
  4. The licensee shall allow the Authority’s employees and inspectors to visit the business office at anytime
