Unemployment Compensation Claim Registration Request

This service is provided by the Ministry of Labour and Social Development to unemployed Individuals requesting to register in the suspended list to obtain the unemployment compensation.

  • Age:
18 years old to retirement age
  • Financial Information:
  1. Compensation is paid on a monthly basis at the rate of 60% of the insured wage based on the monthly wages during the twelve month period prior to her/his unemployment without exceeding the amount of BD 500
  2. Minimum compensation is BD 150 per month or the average insured monthly wage during the twelve months preceding the unemployment, whichever is less

  5. Copy of passport
  6. Copy of residency certificate for Non-Bahrainis
  7. Copy of Labour Market Regulatory Authority Mobility Intention Notice
  8. Copy of the latest academic qualification

   Important notes

  • Exceptions:
  1. Insured individual is entitled to a first time compensation if he is employed in an insured job for a continuous period of 12 months
  2. An insured individual is entitled to a second time compensation if he is employed for another time in an insured job for a period of no less than 12 months during the 18 months preceding the unemployment
  3. An insured individual is entitled to a third time compensation if he is employed for another time in an insured job for a period of no less than 18 months during the 24 months preceding his third unemployment
  4. An insured individual is entitled to compensation on any subsequent occasion if she/he is employed for another time in an insured job for a period of no less than 36 months during the 48 months preceding his most recent claim
  • Others:
  1. The applicant must join the prescribed training, ensures her/his regular attendance and completes it successfully
  2. The applicant must not have left her/his job by free will and should not have been dismissed from her/his job for disciplinary reasons
  3. An unemployed foreign worker must be a legal resident of the Kingdom of Bahrain with the aim of looking for a job according to the applicable laws and regulations
