    This law deals with special provisions regarding telecommunications – wired and wireless – and establishes a body called the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) to be the legal representative and enjoy financial and administrative independence, which shall regulate telecommunications services in the Kingdom in accordance with the provisions of the law.

    These regulations govern the provisions of the fees charged by the TRA, which include: telecom license fees, annual telecom license fees calculated on the basis of total annual income, frequency licensing fees, number allocation fees (numbering fees), type approval fees, company licensing fees for trading in wireless devices, fees for public radio communication stations (communication towers), and fees for distributors' orders.

    The decision includes the specific requirements that must be met for accreditation of short-range radio equipment, the scope of their application, the procedures that must be met, and the request for a qualitative accreditation certificate.

    The decision approved the National Frequency Plan of the attached frequencies, which are a reference for importers, manufacturers, and users of radio communication equipment, as well as for countries and international organisations responsible for communications.

    The decision specifies the powers and duties of the Authority, the requirements and procedures for registering domain names, and the obligations of domain name owners.
  • Joint General Memorandum issued by the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority No. TOD / 0618/005 of 2018  (PDF, 226KB, 5 pages) regarding the assignment of frequencies operating in fixed services systems within the 29.5-27.5 GHz band.
    This memorandum includes instructions for assigning frequencies operating in fixed service systems, in accordance with the National Frequency Plan.
