Work Permit Renewal (Commercial Sector) - Remote Service

This service will allow you to renew expatriate employees work permits for the commercial sector.

Service Conditions

  • The applicant must be registered in the system as a responsible or authorized person in Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) on the establishment.
  • Remote service will be provided for one expatriate employee only.
  • The work permit for expatriate employee can be renewed while the employee is inside or outside the Kingdom of Bahrain. If the employee is outside the Kingdom of Bahrain, the permit must be valid.
  • The permit can be renewed 5 months prior to expiry date if the existing permit was for 6 months.
  • The expatriate employee passport must be valid for at least two months.
  • In case of issuing dependents permits the fees are BHD 90 for renewal regardless of the primary expatriate employee's work permit period.
  • The permit can be renewed 6 months prior to expiry date if the existing work permit was 2 years.
  • The permit can be renewed 6 months prior to expiry date if the existing work permit was 1 year.

Permits can be renewed for 6 months, 1 year or 2 years as per the employer's request, with the payments of:

  • BHD 52.5 for 6 months.
  • BHD 105 for 1 year permit.
  • BHD 210 for 2 years permit.

Basic Health Care fees for work permit renewal is:

  • BHD 45 for 6 months.
  • BHD 90 for 1 year permit.
  • BHD 180 for 2 years permit.

Legal Regulations

  • Resolution No. (26) of 2008 regarding the fees imposed on employers to obtain and renew work permits and residence permits for family members of the expatriate worker and the expatriate employer and its amendments.

  • Visit the Virtual Service Centre and choose the suitable date at your convenience.
  • This service is only provided to the employer, responsible person or authorized person.
  • The employer or authorized person must present the ID card to the service employee before starting the service.
