Engineer's License Issuance

Submitting an application to obtain an engineer's license to practice engineering activities in any of the engineering disciplines or their branches.

Service Conditions

For Bahraini and GCC Citizens:

  • The applicant shall enjoy full legal competence.
  • The applicant shall hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent from a recognized university or higher institution.
  • The applicant shall fulfill all requirements of the engineering field or branch and the category of the license requested.
  • The applicant shall be of good conduct and good reputation.
  • The applicant shall be a full-time practitioner of the engineering profession, with possible permission to carry on business under Council-approved terms and conditions.
  • The applicant shall not have been convicted of any crime or offense affecting honor or integrity, unless reinstated, and suspended sentences require Minister’s approval.

For Non-Bahraini:

  • The applicant shall enjoy full legal competence.
  • Non-Bahraini applicants shall have at least five consecutive years of professional engineering experience after obtaining their academic qualification.
  • The applicant shall fulfill all requirements of the engineering field or branch and the category of the license requested.
  • The applicant shall be of good conduct and good reputation.
  • The applicant shall not have been convicted of any crime or offense affecting honor or integrity, unless reinstated, and suspended sentences require Minister’s approval.
  • The applicant shall hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent from a recognized university or higher institution.
  • The applicant shall be a full-time practitioner of the engineering profession, with possible permission to carry on business under Council-approved terms and conditions.
  • Non-Bahraini applicants shall be under a valid contract with a national or foreign enterprise or a company practicing engineering in the Kingdom.
  • Non-Bahraini engineers working with a foreign firm outside the Kingdom may be exempted from licensing for temporary periods not exceeding six months for specific governmental or industrial projects, under conditions set by the Minister.

Required Attachments

  • Request Letter from the Entity (along with the CR copy in case of a new company/establishment).
  • Job description and list of duties & responsibilities that will be assigned to the engineer.
  • Detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV) with elaboration on engineering experience in chronological order (month/year).
  • Bachelor’s Degree Certification in Engineering or equivalent.
  • Other Academic Certificates and Membership of professional Associations and Institutes (as applicable).
  • Transcripts of the academic certificate for all semesters/years of study.
  • Experience Certificates.
  • Verification Report from DataFlow Group or QuadraBay required for verifying the Bachelor’s degrees granted from universities located outside the Kingdom of Bahrain.
  • Verification Report from DataFlow Group or QuadraBay. Required for verifying the two longest and relevant experience certificates for experience gained outside the Kingdom of Bahrain.
  • Passport (first page and the page showing the address).
  • Residence Permit (if available).
  • Identity Card (if available) and copy of Statement of Identity Card Details.
  • Good Conduct Certificate from Ministry of Interior (to be submitted after approval).
  • License of practicing engineering profession (if available), and copies of previous licenses.
  • Authorization Form which is enclosed with this form.
  • Questionnaire verifying dedication to the practice of engineering professions & the absence of conflict of interest for all the engineers working in the office (for each engineer individually).

Service Processes

Online Submission via Licensee Portal
  • Submissions can be made only by the Key Contact Person identified by the Entity/Company.
  • Key Contact Person can login to the Portal if he has the login credentials.
  • If Login Credentials are not there, system will direct him to fill in the registration form and submit.
  • CRPEP will review the registration request and provide login credentials to the Key Contact Person via Email along with guidelines to use the portal.
  • Submission of application, payment of application fees and Licensing fees as well as issue of receipts and license will all be online.
Manual Submission for backend processing by CRPEP
  • Applicant shall book an appointment via Skiplino App.
  • On arrival the applicant is directed to the application team to check the completeness of the submission. And if it is OK, approve the payment of application fees.
  • Application Submission fees to be paid via debit/credit card.
  • Applicant receives physical Statement of Fees and Receipt and the same is also Emailed to the Key Contact Person simultaneously.
  • On receipt of eligibility letter, the applicant shall complete necessary formalities for finalizing the License and take appointment on Skiplino App.
  • On arrival, applicant is directed to the application team for submitting the final documents. If the documents are acceptable, applicant is directed to pay the licensing fees.
  • Applicant receives the statement of fees, pays the licensing fees via debit/credit card, receives the receipt and license. The same is also Emailed to the Key Contact Person simultaneously.
