Abnormal Load Application Request

This service is provided by the Ministry of Works to Businesses wishing to obtain permission for abnormal load. The load is considered an Abnormal Load when the total (Trailer plus Load) exceeds the following criteria: Gross weight is 40 tons, Length is 18 meters, Height is 4.5 meters, Width is 3.5 meters In the case of transporting loads on a multi-axle locomotive, the weight of each axle is 11.18 tons for each axle containing 4 wheels and 15.18 tons for the locomotive that contains 8 wheels

Service Conditions

The load is considered an Abnormal Load when the total (Trailer plus Load) exceeds the following criteria:

  • Length is 18 meters
  • Height is 4.5 meters
  • Width is 3.5 meters
  • Gross weight is 40 tons

Service Processes

  • Applicant: Visit the Ministry of Works, website to fill and submit the Abnormal Load Permission Application Form along with the required documents: the application form, a sketch or image shows the trailer details and the route of movement.
  • Ministry of Works: Review the application, the required documents and information and ensure its completeness.
  • Ministry of Works: In case the required documents and information are not submitted, the application will be returned through the website to complete the missing documents and information and applicant will be notified by email to submit missing information or change the trailer if need be.
  • Ministry of Works: If the applicant fails to submit the missing information of maintain the requirements, a rejection letter is issued pointing out the reason of rejection. If the applicant did not follow up with the application, the request is cancelled with notification to the applicant.
  • Ministry of Works: If all requirements are submitted, the applicant is informed by email that his request is under process. Then, the approved permission is attached to the website and the applicant is notified that his application is approved, and the permission can be printed and taken to the General Directorate of Traffic to coordinate for movement.
