Customs clearance of radioactive sources - import/export

This service enables beneficiaries to submit a request to notify Customs Affairs of the Supreme Council for Environment’s non-objection to the import or export of radioactive sources or radiation-emitting devices through the “OFOQ” system, with the aim of ensuring compliance with the regulatory requirements. The request can be submitted and tracked electronically.

Service Conditions

  • Existence of an active commercial register for company in the Kingdom of Bahrain

Required Attachments

  • A copy of the invoice or the shipping statement showing a detailed shipment content
  • A copy of the technical information (technical data, catalog, pictures...) of the material(s) to be licensed
  • The importer’s license and the import permit issued by the Supreme Council for Environment for the radiation emitting device or radioactive source mentioned in the invoice/shipping manifest
  • End-user license and use permit issued by the Supreme Council for Environment for the radiation emitting device or radioactive source mentioned in the invoice/shipping manifest

Legal Regulations

  • Law (7) of year 2022 regarding the environment and all ministerial decisions and laws under it

Process Time

  • 2 working days : 2 working days - The completion of this service is conditional upon the submission of all required data and documents
