ID card issuance for non-Bahrainis registered with LMRA
This service, provided by the Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA) allows non-Bahrainis registered with Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) such as workers, investors and their dependents, to issuance an ID card for the first time, renewal, replacements for lost\damaged cards, or to changes photo or printed information on the card surface.
Service Conditions
- A valid passport.
- A valid residency permit as per Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs.
- It is required to complete all procedures and requirements and update the data with the Labour Market Regulatory Authority in advance.
- The applicant must be present within the Kingdom of Bahrain.
- A correct residential address.
- Recent personal photo according to the requirements.
- For dependents: Relationship data must be registered by providing and authenticating original documents (marriage contract/birth certificate) at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs if issued outside the Kingdom of Bahrain.
- Dependents aged 10+ without registered biometric data (fingerprints and signature) must schedule an appointment and visit the service center.
- A person can be authorized to apply the request through E-authorization or authorization issued by the Ministry of Justice.
- You can apply for a renewal of the identity card within less than one month from the expiration date, otherwise it will be considered as replacements request for lost\damaged card, or for changing any of printed information on the card surface.
For workers and investors
- The fingerprint and signature must take it at the Labor Market Regulatory Authority.
- Only the guarantor or clearance can attend front offices through booking appointment in advance.
- First-time issuance: must be through appointment by guarantor or clearance or through urgent service office.
- First-time issuance: the photo in the system will be used.
- Request for replacement a lost/damaged ID card through the E-services: the photo in the system will be used.
- Workers and investors can apply their requests in person through urgent service office in service centers without appointment or through E-services.
Identity Card Photo Requirements
- The photo must be colored with a white background.
- The photo must be recent and not more than six months old.
- The photo must capture the head and the top of the shoulders up close, with the face occupying 70% to 80% of the image.
- The photo must be printed if applying the request through service canters.
- The photo must be as a digital copy with specific stander if applying the request through E-services.

Legal Regulations
- Decision No. 16 of 2011 amending some provisions of the Executive Regulations of the Identity Card Law.
- Resolution No. (3) of 2008 and its amendments concerning the provision of additional services for the issuance of an identity card and the fees prescribed therein.

Service Processes
- Log in through the eService via the National Portal
- Fill out the required details and attach a personal photo and additional documents (if necessary).
- The personal photo must be digital aligned with the requirements without any edit.
- Request for replacement a lost/damaged ID card: the photo in the system will be used or re-take the photo at the LMRA.
- Pay the service fees online and submit the application.
- The request can be tracked through "Edit and Request Status Enquiry".
- Schedule an appointment through the National Portal of the Kingdom of Bahrain using the "ID Card Appointments Booking and Enquiry" service or by calling 80008001.
- Going to the selected service center according to the date and time of the scheduled appointment.
- Take a waiting number from the kiosk.
- Proceed to the desk based on the waiting number.
- Processing the request by the specialist to check all procedures and requirements.
- If the request is approved, the fees will be paid, and the transaction will be completed.
- If the requirements and procedures are not met, the specialist employee will inform the client about required procedures or documents.
