Update ID and civil record information for non-Bahraini
This service, provided by the Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA), allows individuals to update ID card chip data and civil record details in Bahrain's population registry, including (work details / residential address / education / marital status / household head and family connections information / birth certificate data / marriage and divorce records / death records / religion.) Some of this data exists in the ID card chip and statement.
Service Conditions
- A valid passport for updating the ID card chip.
- A valid ID card for updating the ID card chip.
- A correct residential address for updating the ID card chip.
- A valid residency permit as per Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs
- The applicant must be present within the Kingdom of Bahrain for updating the ID card chip
- Documents issued outside the Kingdom of Bahrain must be authenticated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
- For those registered with the Labour Market Regulatory Authority: It is required to complete all procedures and requirements and update the data in advance with the Labour Market Regulatory Authority system.
- Residents related to diplomatic entities: must provide application number that issuance from ministry of foreign affairs of Bahrain
- For dependents: Relationship data must be registered by providing and authenticating original documents (marriage certificate/birth certificate) through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs if issued outside the Kingdom of Bahrain.
- For the wife of a Bahraini citizen or the husband of a Bahraini citizen (non-GCC national): Present the original marriage contract, authenticated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Waqf, if issued outside Bahrain.
- In the case of parental divorce, a custody continuity certificate (from the Court of Execution) issued within the last six months is required for children under 21 to confirm their address according to the guardian’s residence. If the certificate is unavailable, parents may sign a custody agreement declaration.
- The information available on the ID card chip can be updated by scheduling an appointment to vist one of the service centers or by the self-service kiosks.
General requirements for the residential address
- The property classification must be residential, and the electricity and water account must be active in all cases.
- Individual who has an active electricity and water account for a residential address must update his address with family members to the address that has the same account number.
- The residential address with active electricity cannot be changed from owned property to a rented address unless there is proof of rental, sale, or an issued building or renovation permit from the municipality
- Renting a residential address, the electricity account must be activated under the tenant or providing an address certificate issued by the municipality if the lease agreement mentioned that electricity account under landlord, ensuring that the landlord is not registered at the same address in the ID and population registry system
- If an individual does not have a residential address and wishes to update their address to one of their relatives, a non-objection accommodation declaration must be signed by the owner of the address according to specific requirements
- If an individual does not have a residential address the guarantee entity can provide a residential address for the applicant.
- For the investor: The residential address must be in his name or belong to first-level relative, or to his partner in the CR, provided that the marital status matches.

Service Processes

- Go directly to the self-service kiosk to complete the transaction.
- Book an appointment through the online service
- Going to the selected service center according to the date and time of the scheduled appointment.
- Take a waiting number from the kiosk.
- Proceed to the desk based on the waiting number.
- Processing the request by the specialist to check all procedures and requirements.
- If the request is approved, the fees will be paid, and the transaction will be completed.
- If the requirements and procedures are not met, the specialist employee will inform the client about required procedures or documents.
