Marine Dredging and Marine Cleaning

This service enables beneficiaries to submit a request for an environmental impact assessment to identify the potential effects of marine dredging and cleaning on the site and the surrounding environment, and to ensure that projects comply with environmental requirements and regulations and preserve natural resources prior to the issuance of the permit. The request can be submitted and tracked electronically.

Service Conditions

  • Existence of an active commercial register for company in the Kingdom of Bahrain

Required Attachments

  • A duly completed application form EA-5
  • The application form from Marine Resources Directorate, and from Agricultural Engineering and Water Resources Directorate, with an approved map attached to the site
  • A letter of approval from the Ports and Maritime Affairs
  • A map from the Survey and Land Registration Bureau showing the coordinates of the dredging site
  • A valid copy of the commercial registration CR of the contractor executing the dredging or marine cleaning works, issued by the Ministry of Industry and Trade Clear photographs of the site (interior and exterior), taken from multiple angles, showing the surrounding activities relative to the work site
  • A valid copy of the commercial registration CR for the contractor of the operational work of the port issued by the Ministry of Industry and Trade (If there is a desire to conduct marine cleaning works on the port waterfront)
  • Any additional documents or attachments that may be required in accordance with regulatory procedures

Legal Regulations

  • Ministerial Order No. 1 of 1998 regarding the environmental assessment of projects
  • Law (7) of year 2022 regarding the environment and all ministerial decisions and laws under it
  • Ministerial Order No. (4) of 2021 regarding the fees of the licenses and services provided by the Supreme Council for Environment

  • 100 BHD : Initial Assessment
  • 200 BHD : Initial Assessment - fast-track
  • 100 BHD : Study Scope Phase;
  • 500 BHD : Study Scope Phase- Fast Truck Application
  • 4000 BHD : Environmental Impact Assessment Phase
  • 6000 BHD : Environmental Impact Assessment Phase - Fast Truck
