This service enables beneficiaries to submit a request to obtain a license for facilities and activities that handle ionizing radiation sources, following verification of their compliance with radiation safety requirements to protect workers, the public, and the environment, as well as ensuring adherence to the security requirements governing radioactive sources and nuclear materials.

Service Conditions

  • Existence of an active commercial registration for company in the Kingdom of Bahrain

Required Attachments

  • The radiation safety plan, including the emergency preparedness and response plan
  • Proof and details of special transport vehicle, for transporters and users of radioactive sources (sealed and open)
  • Radiation workers’ CV and qualification certificates, and their previous radiation dose records
  • Medical checkup results (blood count test) for the radiation workers.
  • Proof of provision of personal dosimetry to the radiation workers

Legal Regulations

  • Ministerial Order No. (4) of 2021 regarding the fees of the licenses and services provided by the Supreme Council for Environment
  • Law (7) of year 2022 regarding the environment and all ministerial decisions and laws under it
