Temporary Domestic Employees Ceiling Application Increase for GCC Resident Employer

Through this service, the employer or the person who will act on his behalf (1st degree relative by official power of attorney, or through an authorized clearance office or employment office, or through an electronic authorization) may apply to increase a temporarily ceiling for number of work permits allowed for domestic employees, in case the income does not meet the permit of another domestic employee, provided that the employer pledges the date the domestic employee transfers to another employer or leaves the Kingdom of Bahrain.

Service Conditions

  • To verify that the applicant is the employer or the person who will act on his behalf (1st degree relative by official power of attorney, or through an authorized clearance office or employment office, or through an electronic authorization).
  • The employer or his family must be resident of the Kingdom of Bahrain.

Required Attachments

(Online)

  • Salary certificate (In case the salary data for whom fixed income data received electronically from the Social Insurance Organization (SIO) is not available) with the attachment of a bank statement showing the applicant's income during the past three months at least (Copy)
  • ID cards for all the members of the family or attach a copy of the Family card (Copy)
  • A proof of the employer’s identity (at least two documents), signed no longer than 30 days from the date of submitting the application (in case the application is submitted through recruitment offices) (Copy)
  • Employer’s pledge to employ a domestic employee within the Kingdom of Bahrain only (Copy)

Service Processes

  • Book an appointment via Appointment Management System (AMS).
  • Personal attendance by the employer or the person who will act on his behalf.
  • Provide LMRA with the required documents.
  • Upon approval, the employer may apply for new work permit for domestic employees.

  • Login to the LMRA Expat Management System (EMS).
  • Fill out the required details in the designated fields and upload the required documents.
  • Once you submit the application, an application ID will be issued, and it will be sent for verification.
  • You can check the application status (whether it has been approved or rejected) by: Logging on to the Expat Management System (EMS) or calling LMRA’s call centre on +973 17506055.
  • Upon approval, the employer may apply for new work permit for domestic employees.
