Issuing New Work Permit for Domestic Employees
Through this service, the employer can apply for a new work permit for domestic employees either by submitting an electronic application via the Expat Management System (EMS) or by attending in person or by proceeding to the recruitment offices to avail this service. Note: This service is offered at a discounted rate for Senior Citizens (Bahraini employer’s aged 60 years and above). To be applied to one domestic work permit only.
Service Conditions
- Domestic employee passport must be valid for a period of no less than six months.
- Medical examination must be issued by "Wafid". If there are no accredited medical centres in the expatriate employee’s country, the employee can attend any medical centre provided that the centre itself fill out the Non Wafid Medical Check Up Form PDF (472 KB) which will need to be attached to the domestic application during the submission.
- Regarding domestic employees from the Republic of the Philippines, the original medical examination from the "Wafid" list of medical centres must be submitted to LMRA.
- Regarding domestic employees from the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia coming from one of the GCC countries, the original medical examination issued by the medical centres must be submitted.
- You can only apply for domestic employees from the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia and Republic of Seychelles via employment offices.
- First-degree relatives are accepted (In case of authorization only).

Service Processes
- Book an appointment via Appointment Management System (AMS).
- The employer will visit the LMRA to apply for work permit.
- Fill out the application form and attach the required documents.
- LMRA and concerned entities will verify the application and upon approval the employer will be allowed to pay the fees.
