Renewal of Driving License
Renew all categories of driving license for citizens and residents for a period of five years.
Service Conditions
- Pass the vision test for all categories except private and motorcycle licenses
- Clear all fines, violations, and accidents if any
- No legal restrictions on the personal number
- Pay the applicable fees

Fees
- From 5 BHD to 40 : Based on service type
Fee Details:
- 12 BHD : Renewal fee for 5-year license validity
- 5 BHD : Renewal fee for 1-year license (public transport)
- 15 BHD : Renewal fee for driving instructor license (1 year)
- 5 BHD : Vision test fee per time based on service type.

Service Processes
- Through electronic channels.
- Select “General Directorate of Traffic services”.
- Select “renewal of private driving license” or “motorcycle license”.
- Enter the personal number, ID card expiry date, and building number.
- Choose the license type (driving license).
- Choose the required license category.
- Click Continue.
- Verify conditions, pay fees, and renew the driving license
- Through electronic platforms
- Select “General Directorate of Traffic services”.
- Choose “renewal of private or motorcycle license”.
- Enter personal number, ID expiry date, and block number
- Select license type (Driving License)
- Choose required license category
- Click Continue
- Verify conditions, pay fees, and renew the driving license
- Book an appointment via the Appointment System app (Mawaeid).
- Go to the General Directorate of Traffic – Driver’s License Division or one of the external service centers, making sure to provide the required documents.
- Verify that all required documents and conditions are met.
- Pay the fees.
