Service Conditions
- All fines, violations, and accidents (if any) must be settled.
- No legal restrictions on the applicant’s personal number.
- The applicant must be free of physical and mental disabilities.
- A valid residence permit is required for foreigners.
- Must pass the vision test.
- Pay the applicable fees
For Issuing a Learner’s License for Public Transport:
- A valid residence permit is required for foreigners with the profession (Public Transport Driver).
- Applicant must have at least five years of experience driving private vehicles (private license).
- Age must be between 25 and 65 years.
- Approval from the Ministry of Transportation.
- Medical examination stamped by the Ministry of Transportation.
- Good Conduct Certificate.
- Applicant must be Bahraini.
- Applicant should not be an employee of the government or private sector, or a holder of a commercial registration
For Issuing a Learner’s License for Private and Motorcycle Categories:
- Applicant must be at least 18 years old.
For Issuing a Learner’s License for Driving Instructors:
- Applicant must be Bahraini.
- Applicant should not be an employee of the government or private sector or a holder of a commercial registration.
- Must have at least five years of experience driving private vehicles (private license).
- Must hold a high school certificate.
- Age must be between 25 and 40 years.
- Good Conduct Certificate.

Service Processes
- Book an appointment via the Appointment System app (Mawaeid).
- 2. Visit the General Directorate of Traffic – Driver Licensing Division (for all license categories), or one of the external service centres (for private, motorcycle, private transport, and special use licenses), ensuring all required documents are available.
- Verify that all required documents and conditions are met.
- Pass the vision test.
- Pay the applicable fees.
- The instructor is selected from the available lists.
- 2. The instructor contacts the trainee to arrange the practical training schedule
- Via the eGovernment Portal.
- Select the Driving School Services.
- Log in using the eKey.
- Select “Request for Issuing Learner’s License”.
- Choose the required license category. Once the conditions are verified, pay the vision test fee, then proceed to the General Directorate of Traffic to complete the issuance procedures.
- After passing the vision test, complete the process by accessing "My Training Record" and paying the applicable fees.
- **The Traffic Rules Handbook is available in Arabic or English at (www.traffic.gov.bh ).
- Through the General Directorate of Traffic website, select “Driving Training” from the menu
- Through the eGovernment Portal, select Driving Training School Services.
- Select “Search for Driving Instructors.”
- Select license type and instructor gender, then click “Search.”
- A list of available instructors will be displayed according to the search criteria.
