Vehicle Driving Authorization Outside Bahrain

Issuance and management of authorizations for individuals and institutions to drive vehicle outside the Kingdom of Bahrain in accordance with the applicable requirements.

Service Conditions

Valid driving license of the authorized driver.
Valid vehicle registration.
No legal restrictions on the vehicle (e.g. seizure or installments).

Required Attachments

In-person (for vehicles owned by ministries or commercial records).

Signed and stamped authorization form from the authorized signatory.
Original or copy of the vehicle ownership certificate.
Copy of the ID of the record owner.

Electronic service (for vehicles owned by individuals).

Visit King Fahd Causeway Traffic Branch to approve or cancel authorization.
Verify all documents and requirements.
Approve or cancel authorization as requested.

Through the eGovernment portal (**service is available electronically for certain types of plates).
Log in using the eKey.
Select General Directorate of Traffic Services.
Select the King Fahd Causeway Vehicle Authorization Service.
Select 'Issue Vehicle Authorization'.
Select the vehicle number from the list + select driver’s ID + enter ID number + enter authorization and contact details.
Verify the data and click Submit. Upon successful submission, the authorization certificate will be displayed and can be downloaded and printed.

Log in using the eKey.
Select General Directorate of Traffic Services.
Select the King Fahd Causeway Vehicle Authorization Service.
Select 'Manage Issued Vehicle Authorizations'.
Enter the vehicle number and click Search.
All issued authorizations will be displayed.
Select the desired authorization and click Cancel.

Mobile Application

Through the Traffic App or MyGov App (**Service is available electronically for certain types of plates)
Log in using the eKey
Select the King Fahd Causeway Vehicle Authorization Service.
Select 'Issue Vehicle Authorization'.
