Renewal of Registration Certificate

Annual registration for all types of vehicles (except for public transport vehicles, which are renewed according to the requirements of the Ministry of Transportation)

Service Conditions

The vehicle must pass the technical inspection if required (these centers can be found via the Service and Vehicle Inspection Centers Inquiry service in the Traffic application).
Civil liability insurance for accidents must cover the validity period of the registration certificate.

Fees

From 10 BHD to 80 : Depending on the vehicle weight

Vehicle inspection fee:

5 : Internal inspection (5 BHD) per time (or inspection through private inspection centers)
15 : External inspection

Annual vehicle registration fee by weight:

15 : Empty weight not exceeding 2.5 tons
30 : Empty weight over 2.5 tons and not exceeding 5 tons
36 : Empty weight over 5 tons and not exceeding 7 tons
60 : Empty weight over 7 tons and not exceeding 11 tons
65 : Empty weight over 11 tons
10 : Motorcycle
0.500 : A late registration fee of 500 fils per day is calculated starting from the day after the registration certificate expiry date, with a maximum of 20 BHD per year

Select “General Directorate of Traffic services"
Select “Vehicle Registration Renewal service”
Enter the ID number / Commercial Registration (CR) number.
Enter the vehicle number and select the type of registration.
Verify that all conditions are met.
Pay traffic fines (if any).
Pay the fees and renew the vehicle registration certificate.

Through the eTraffic app or MyGov App or the eGovernment website.
Select “General Directorate of Traffic services”.
Access the electronic service using eKey or authentication factors.
Enter the vehicle number and select the type of registration.
Verify that all conditions are met.
Pay traffic contraventions (if any).
A 50% discount on the annual vehicle registration renewal fee is available for senior citizens (Bahraini nationals over 60 years old) for one vehicle only.
Pay the fees and renew the vehicle registration certificate.

Select “General Directorate of Traffic services”.
Select “Vehicle Registration Renewal Fee Discount”.
Enter the owner's personal number.
Enter the vehicle number.
Select the type of registration.
Click Submit; once the data is successfully submitted, the discount will be applied to the vehicle.
