Registration of Vehicles with Cancelled Registration Certificates

Service Conditions

• Vehicle must pass the technical inspection
• Civil liability insurance for accidents must cover the validity period of the registration certificate
• Pay the applicable fees

Required Attachments

• Valid ID card
• Fill and sign the licensing division form by the owner, for companies; attach a stamped form, commercial registration, and a signed company letter by the authorized person.

• Minister of Interior Decision No. (154) of 2015 issuing the executive regulations for the Traffic Law promulgated by Law No. (23) 2014, and its amendments
• Ministerial Resolution No. (309) of 1998 regarding the replacement of fees for the services of the General Directorate of Traffic

Fees

• From 29.500 BHD to 135 : depending on vehicle weight and classification

Annual Registration Fee by Weight:

• 65 BHD : Empty weight over 11 tons
• 10 BHD : Motorcycle
• 15 : Empty weight not exceeding 2.5 tons
• 30 : Empty weight over 2.5 tons and not exceeding 5 tons
• 36 : Empty weight over 5 tons and not exceeding 7 tons
• 60 : Empty weight over 7 tons and not exceeding 11 tons

File Opening Fee:

• 5 : Vehicle or motorcycle
• 100 : Classic number registration (first time)

Inspection Fees:

• 5 : Internal inspection
• 15 : External inspection
• 6 : Inspection and ownership certificate

License Plate Fees:

• 3.500 : Private registration number
• 3.500 : Motorcycle registration number
• 5 : Public transport number
• 5 : Private transport number
• 12 : Other types of plates

Delay Fees:

• 0.500 : per day starting from the next day after registration expiry (up to 20 BHD/year) plus overdue registration fees by weight in case of previous late fees before cancellation.
