Request for register a license to use a mark & Publishing the license

Request to register a license to use a trademark by a third party other than the owner and publish the license in the trademark bulletin.

Service Conditions

  • *Who has the right to submit a license agreement:
  • The mark owner (Licensee).
  • The legal agent appointed by the trademark owner (Licensee) and registered in the trademark registry.
  • The legal agent appointed by the licenser and registered in the trademark registry.

Required Attachments

  • "Fill out the form for the requested change. A written, notarized and duly authenticated contract and the interpreter if the original is edited without the Arabic language"

Legal Regulations

  • Ministerial Resolution No. (58) of 2018 regulating the registration of industrial property registration agents.
  • Law No. (6) of 2014 approving the Trademarks Law (Regulation) of the GCC.
  • Law No. (3) of 2021 approving the amendment of the Trademarks Law (Regulation) of the GCC
  • Ministerial Resolution No. (65) of 2016 issuing the executive regulations of the Trademarks Law (Regulation) of the GCC

  • 300 : Fees for register a license to use a mark & Publishing the license

  • 10 working days : For the online requests

Service Processes

  • Login via Advanced eKey in the Electronic Industrial Properties Services: https://service.moic.gov.bh/ipd/login
  • The Applicant selects the Request for register a license to use a mark & Publishing the license service and fills out the relevant form.
  • Check if all the information has been provided.
  • Payment is collected and a receipt is issued.
  • Make the required amendment in the system.
  • Issue a letter to the applicant according to the type of amendment.
  • The amendment is published in the Special Bulletin for Trademarks on the Ministry’s website.
