Customs Clearance Service (for products regulated by Testing and Metrology Directorate)

Customs clearance and transaction registration service (for products regulated by Testing and Metrology Directorate), where requests to release shipments are received through the OFOQ system and then the decision is made based on the compliance of the product to the national requirements and technical regulations, before their entry into the local markets of the Kingdom of Bahrain.

Required Attachments

  • Invoice/s of the shipment
  • Packing list invoice/s of the shipment (If existing)
  • Proof of conformity (varies depending on the imported product) - see the attached list “Import Requirements for Regulated Product by Testing and Metrology Directorate” (https://www.moic.gov.bh/en/node/2782)

Service Processes

  • The clearing agent raises an application in the OFOQ system
  • The required documents are submitted to the Directorate of Testing and Metrology, either through personal presence or email
  • The application is reviewed by the controller at the ports and the documents are assessed for conformity
  • In the case of having missing documents, the clearing agent is requested to provide the missing documents through email caps@moic.gov.bh
  • Final decision on the transaction is provided in the OFOQ system
