Dependents Residency Permit (Wife/Husband)

This service enables employers can request the issuance of residency permits for their employees' dependents (spouse).

Service Conditions

  • The application must be submitted in the system by the authorized person or the person responsible for the establishment.
  • The expatriate employee's monthly net income must be BHD 400 or more (as per the Social Insurance Organization (SIO)).
  • In case the employee's family dependents are already in the Kingdom on a visit or any other type of permit, the permit must be valid.
  • Dependents holding a previous personal number should fill in the same number in the personal number field when applying for the residency permit.

Required Attachments

Dependent’s passport:

  • Copy
  • The passport should have all the information and alterations or updates with the first name and either the father's name or the family name appearing on the first page of the passport in all Employment/dependent applications. Additionally, the page that states the father or spouse’s name (for Indian and Pakistani nationalities) and the page that contains the old passport number. The passport must be valid for at least 6 months, but it is highly recommended to have it valid for at least 2 years before applying.

Marriage certificate in Arabic or English:

  • Copy
  • The certificate should be attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) (applicable to Arab nationalities; this includes non-Arab nationals if the husband's/wife's name in the husband's/wife's passport is not mentioned) excluding the Indian and Pakistani passports Husband/Wife name must be written in the passport.

  • Resolution No. (34) of 2021 amending some provision

  • 90 BHD : Service fee
  • 5 BHD : Admin fee
