Dependants Residency Permit (Children)

Through this service, employers can request the issuance of residence permits for their employees' dependants (children up to the age of 24).

Service Conditions

  • The applicant should be registered in the system as an authorized or responsible in LMRA on the respective CR or Unit.
  • The expatriate employee's monthly net income (as per the Social Insurance Organization (SIO)) must be BHD 400 or more.
  • In case the employee's family dependents are already in the Kingdom of Bahrain on a visit or any other type of permit, the permit must be valid.
  • In case the employee's dependents are over the age of 24 years, the procedure of issuing the residence permit and renewing is directly through the Nationality Passports and Residency Affairs (NPRA), depending on the conditions and regulations of the department.
  • Dependents holding a previous personal number should fill in the same number in the personal number field when applying for the residency permit.
  • For those born in the Kingdom of Bahrain or those issued with a new passport in the Kingdom of Bahrain, they should first open a new file (or update the data) at the Nationality Passports and Residency Affairs (NPRA). (The personal number of the newborn can be found on the birth certificate).

Dependant's passport

  • The passport should have all the information and alterations or updates and First Name in addition to Father or Family must be written on the 1st page of the passport in all Employment/Dependant Applications. As well as the page that states the father or spouse’s name (for Indian and Pakistani nationalities) and the page that contains the old passport number. The passport must be valid for at least 6 months, but it is highly recommended to have it valid for at least 2 years before applying.

Dependants' birth certificate (in Arabic or English)

  • The certificate should be attested by the embassy of the employee's country in the Kingdom of Bahrain and by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain (MOFA)

For children accompanying their working mother/ Father: No objection letter from the dependant's father/mother.

If the parents are divorced, then a divorce certificate and a verdict proving custody of the dependant’s is required.

Death certificate if one of the spouses is deceased.
