Request to install channels/protection for underground utilities
This service is provided by the Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning to private sector establishments and public entities requesting extension pipes to protect wires and connecting cables within the infrastructure of a road.
Required Attachments
- An official letter addressed to the head of Roads Maintenance, stating the purpose of the request and the location of the road, and a work permit (Wayleave)

- This procedure is compatible with other service authorities (electricity - water - telecommunications) according to the attached Duct Policy
Fees
- The rate and overall size of these fees are determined by the dimensions of the road.

Service Processes
- The applicant: Send an official letter to the head of Roads Maintenance at the Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning to request the installation of channels/protection for underground utilities
- Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning: Review the application and send an official letter to the applicant informing them of the approval or rejection.
- The applicant: If approved, the application will be sent to the contractor to start work.
- Contractor: Execute the work and issue an invoice to the applicant based on the length of the route
- Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning: Verify the invoice and send it to the applicant
- The applicant: Pay the fees to the contractor
