Request a permit for unusual cargo loads
This service is provided by the Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning to private sector establishments requesting permits for unusual cargo loads. Cargo is considered unusual when the sum of the truck plus the cargo load exceeds the following:Gross weight: 40 tons -Length: 18 meters - Height: 4 meters-Width 2.5 meters If transporting loads on a multi-axle trailer, the weight for each axle should be 11.18 tons for each axle containing 4 wheels, and 15.18 tons for a trailer containing 8 wheels.

Service Processes
- The applicant: Visit the website of the Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning to fill out and submit the unusual cargo load permit application form, attaching the final permit from the General Directorate of Traffic for the movement of the truck
- Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning: Review the application, the required documents and information to ensure they are completed. If the required documents and information have not all been submitted, the application will be returned through the website so that the applicant can complete the missing documents and information
- Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning: If all the required documents and information are submitted, an approval will be sent with the permit attached through the website. If the application is rejected, the applicant will be notified through the website
