Marine pilot license
Issuance of a license for a marine pilot, authorizing the person to guide ships for a company licensed to provide ship pilotage services in Bahraini ports.
Required Attachments
- Application form for obtaining a marine pilot’s license
- Copy of the Identity Card or passport
- Recent clear colour electronic photo of the candidate, with a quality not less than 600 DPI and size of 6 x 4 cm
- Certificate of Competency (CoC)
- Valid endorsement confirming the recognition of the competency certificate issued by Ports and Maritime Affairs
- Valid medical fitness certificate
- Letter issued by the applicant company stating that the nominated person has completed the necessary training programs and fulfilled all requirements, together with the supporting documents

- Ministerial Resolution No. (6) of 2019 regulating licenses for marine pilots and tug captains in Bahraini ports
Fees
- Marine pilot exam (practical): BD 375 per exam
- Marine pilot exam (written): BD 300 per exam
- Marine pilot exam (oral): BD 300 per exam
- Issuance of a marine pilot's license: BD 150 per license
- Marine pilot license renewal: BD 150 per license
