Apply for registration within the list of mediators (Civil and Commercial Disputes Settlement Branch - Criminal Matters Branch)
Application to register a willing individual or an entity that meets the required conditions, to practice the profession of mediation in the Kingdom of Bahrain
Required Attachments
If the applicant is an individual
- Application form
- Certificate issued by an official authority demonstrating the applicant’s experience within their field of specialization for at least 3 years after graduation
- Personal photo
- A copy of identity Card
- A letter requesting registration in the list of mediators that is to be submitted to the Minister of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Waqf
- A bachelor’s degree or its equivalent from a university or institute recognized in the Kingdom, along with an official transcript and a certificate equivalency statement issued by the Ministry of Education (excluding graduates of the University of Bahrain). (Lawyers and registered experts are exempt from submitting the degree certificate).
- Copy of the applicant’s lawyer’s license or experience before the courts (if any).
If the applicant is an entity
- Copy of the Identity Card and passport.
- Appointing one or more qualified employees who meet the prescribed conditions for registering a natural person to represent the entity in mediation procedures, along with attaching the required documents for the registration of the natural person.
- A bachelor’s degree or its equivalent from a university or institute recognized in the Kingdom, along with an official transcript and a certificate equivalency statement issued by the Ministry of Education (excluding graduates of the University of Bahrain). (Lawyers and registered experts are exempt from submitting the degree certificate).
- Certificate of completion of mediation training courses (if available).
- Designating one or more qualified employees who meet the conditions prescribed for registering individuals to represent the entity in mediation procedures, in addition to attaching the required documents for registration of individuals
- Application form
- Copy of the Commercial Registration issued by the Ministry of Industry and Commerce in the Kingdom of Bahrain, provided that the license is active, and the entity is engaged in its business activities at the time of the application for registration
- Letter to the Minister of Justice, Islamic Affairs, and Endowments Expressing the Desire to Register in the List of Accredited Mediators

- Resolution No. 126 of 2019 issuing the executive regulations for Decree-Law No. 22 of 2019 regarding mediation in disputes.
- Ministerial Resolution No. (13) of 2020 regarding standards and conditions for the mediation course and cases of exemption from it
- Ministerial Resolution No. (32) of 2020 regulating mediation in criminal matters

- 100 BD : Registration fee for individuals
- 200 BD : Registration fee for entities

Service Processes
- Submit the required documents either by sending them to the email of the General Registrar Office or in-person at the General Registrar Office
- Submit a request for a Good Conduct Certificate from the Ministry of Interior (except for registered lawyers and experts)
- Pay the relevant fee after approval
- Submit the application to the Minister of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Waqf to issue a decision of acceptance or rejection
- Submit the required documents either by sending them to the email of the General Registrar Office or in-person at the General Registrar Office
- Submit a request for a Good Conduct Certificate from the Ministry of Interior (except for registered lawyers and experts)
- Pay the relevant fee after approval
- Submit the application to the Minister of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Waqf to issue a decision of acceptance or rejection
