Filing an application for the registration of a collective mark or a control and examination mark

Request to register a collective trademark or monitoring and inspection mark.

Required Attachments

  • Firstly: Watermark
  • Copy of the graphic form of the watermark with a minimum size of 10x10 cm
  • Secondly: Non-Visual mark
  • Copy of the Commercial Registration in the Kingdom of Bahrain if the trademark owners are a Bahraini company or enterprise, or evidence of the applicant’s practice of the profession/activity in the Kingdom of Bahrain for non-Bahraini companies and enterprises
  • A notarized and attested official certificate that is translated into Arabic from its country of origin, indicating the company’s activity or proving the practice of a profession/activity for applicants who are non-residents of the Kingdom of Bahrain
  • Proof of identification for natural persons (Identity Card, passport, or any other documents to prove the identity)
  • If designating a legal representative (law firm or legal agent that is resident in the Kingdom of Bahrain and registered within the records of trademark registration agents), a notarized and attested power of attorney document, translated into the Arabic language, should be attached (hiring a legal agent or law firm is compulsory if the trademark owner is a non-citizen or non-resident of the Kingdom of Bahrain)
  • Documents outlined in (d) can be excluded if the application is submitted by a legal agent. A duly notarized and certified power of attorney, translated into the Arabic language, would be the only required document
  • If the trademark requested for registration includes one or more words written in a foreign language, the applicant must provide a certified translation in the Arabic language.
  • All proof required in (2), (3), (4), (5), (6), and (7)
  • Musical trademark: Sheet music accompanied by a text description and sound recording (MP3) of the musical trademark to be registered
  • Scent trademark: Written description of the scent
  • Thirdly: Collective trademark, monitoring and inspection mark, public interest organization and professional institution mark.
  • All proof required above in (2), (3), (4), (5), (6), and (7) according to the type of trademark (watermark or non-visual)
  • Collective trademark: Authenticated replica of the statutes of the federation, organization, or public enterprise that is applying for registration including any modifications. The document should be duly notarized, certified and translated into the Arabic language provided that it includes what is mentioned in Article No. (35) of the executive regulations for Law No. (6) of 2014 approving the Trademarks Law (Regulation) of the GCC
  • Inspection and control mark: Authenticated replica of the statutes of the federation, organization, or public enterprise that is applying for registration including any modifications. The document should be duly notarized, certified and translated into the Arabic language provided that it includes what is mentioned in Article No. (36) of the executive regulations for Law No. (6) of 2014 approving the Trademarks Law (Regulation) of the GCC
  • Public interest organizations and professional institutions mark: Statute of the public interest organization or professional institution that is applying for the trademark, or the law, decree or resolution that established the organization or institution

  • Ministerial Resolution No. (13) of 2020 cancelling the fees imposed on certain services contained in the executive regulations of the Trademarks Law (Regulation) of the GCC promulgated by Law No. (6) of 2014 issued by Ministerial Resolution No. (65) of 2016
  • Ministerial Resolution No. (58) of 2018 regulating the registration of industrial property registration agents
  • Ministerial Resolution No. (80) of 2019 cancelling fees charged for certain services contained in executive regulations of the Trademarks Law (Regulation) of the GCC issued by Ministerial Resolution No. (65) of 2016 under Law No. (6) of 2014
