Administration fees for filing an international mark application

The administrative fee service for filing an international trademark application is an essential part of the Madrid System for the international registration of trademarks, which is administered by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). The application is submitted electronically to the trademark office in both Arabic and English.

Required Attachments

Submit a letter addressed to the Trademark Office in Both Arabic and English. The letter must include the following information:

  • Fill out the MM2 form and attach it to the application, which can be obtained from the following website: https://www.wipo.int/madrid/en/forms/
  • The type and date of the procedure to be modified.
  • Trademark number and class
  • Current owner information in both Arabic and English
  • Name and signature of the applicant

  • Ministerial Resolution No. (80) of 2019 cancelling fees charged for certain services contained in executive regulations of the Trademarks Law (Regulation) of the GCC issued by Ministerial Resolution No. (65) of 2016 under Law No. (6) of 2014
  • Law No. (6) of 2014 approving the Trademarks Law (Regulation) of the GCC
  • Ministerial Resolution No. (58) of 2018 regulating the registration of industrial property registration agents

Service Processes

  • Application is submitted by the legal representative or the owner of the trademark (citizen or resident) with the payment of necessary fees via the website
  • Application is examined to ensure the data in the MM2 form is correct
  • If necessary, a letter requesting amendments to the MM2 form is sent to the applicant
  • After being signed by the applicant and the Trademark Office, the MM2 form is sent to the International Office
  • Follow up takes place directly between the applicant and the International Office
