Cancellation of Vehicle Registration Certificate
Personal vehicle cancellation by the vehicle owner. There are no fees for the transaction unless the person wishes to retain or own the vehicle number—in which case, overdue registration fees must be paid (if the vehicle is unregistered).
Service Conditions
- Clear all fines, contraventions, and accidents (if any)
- Submit the ownership certificate and metal license plates
- No legal restrictions on the vehicle (seizure or loans)
Required Attachments
- Valid ID card.
- Vehicle ownership certificate.
- Completed licensing division form signed by the owner; for companies: a copy of the commercial registration, form stamped by the company, and a letter signed and stamped by the authorized signatory must be attached.

Fees
If the applicant requests a vehicle cancellation certificate or wishes to retain or own the number, the following fees apply:
- 6 : Vehicle cancellation certificate
- 20 : Number retention fee
- 100 : Number ownership fee
- - : Without prejudice to other applicable fees: if the vehicle registration is invalid, the applicant must pay the previous registration fee based on the vehicle's weight and the daily late fees.

Service Processes
- Book an appointment through the National Appointment System application and go to the General Directorate of Traffic building or one of the external service centers.
- Retrieve the vehicle registration plates and ownership certificate from the vehicle owner.
- Verify that all required documents and conditions are met.
- Pay the prescribed fees if the applicant requests a vehicle cancellation certificate or wishes to own or retain the number.
