Approval of ownership transfer of ionizing radiation source

This service enables beneficiaries to submit a request to obtain an approval to transfer the ownership of a radiation emitting device or a radioactive source, with the objective of regulating and managing the national inventory of such sources, preventing their possession or use by unauthorized entities, and ensuring their continued oversight within the regulatory framework. The service also supports the Kingdom of Bahrain’s fulfillment of its obligations under relevant international conventions.

Service Conditions

  • Having an active commercial register (for commercial use) in the Kingdom of Bahrain

Required Attachments

  • A duly completed application form
  • Radiation source/projector specifications, catalogues/radioactive source certificate
  • Permit to Use Ionizing Radiation Sources for the Future Owner

Legal Regulations

  • Law (7) of year 2022 regarding the environment and all ministerial decisions and laws under it
  • Ministerial Order No. (4) of 2021 regarding the fees of the licenses and services provided by the Supreme Council for Environment

Process Time

  • 5 Working Days : The completion of this service is conditional upon the submission of all required data and documents
