Approval to export/re-export ionizing radiation source

This service enables beneficiaries to submit a request to obtain an approval to export/re-export a radiation emitting device or a radioactive source, for regulating and controlling the national inventory, ensuring compliance with the established regulatory system, and fulfilling the Kingdom of Bahrain’s obligations under the relevant international conventions.

Service Conditions

  • Existence of an active commercial register for company in the Kingdom of Bahrain

Required Attachments

  • A duly completed application form
  • Radiation source/projector specifications, catalogues/radioactive source certificate

Legal Regulations

  • Ministerial Order No. (4) of 2021 regarding the fees of the licenses and services provided by the Supreme Council for Environment
  • Law (7) of year 2022 regarding the environment and all ministerial decisions and laws under it

  • 5 Working Days : The completion of this service is conditional upon the submission of all required data and documents

Service Processes

  • Fill the application form and submit it with needed documents by email to the Environmental Licensing section
  • Transfer the application to radiation protection to study the application, verify the completeness of the documents and requirements, and schedule an inspection visit
  • Prepare the permitting letter of authorization to export/re-export the radiation-emitting device/radioactive source and issue the service fee invoice
  • Pay the fees
  • Send the export/re-export permit letter to the relevant authority
