Infrastructure projects licensing

This service enables beneficiaries to submit a request for the study and environmental impact assessment of infrastructure projects, including the construction of bridges, roads, water desalination plants, wastewater treatment facilities, and others, to ensure that these projects comply with the environmental requirements and regulations prior to the issuance of the permit. The request can be submitted and tracked electronically.

Service Conditions

  • Having an active commercial register (for commercial use) in the Kingdom of Bahrain

Required Attachments

  • A duly completed application form EA-1
  • A copy of a valid commercial register CR (of the project owner or the project contractor)
  • Clear photographs of the site (interior and exterior), taken from multiple angles, showing the surrounding activities relative to the work site
  • Any additional documents or attachments that may be required in accordance with regulatory procedures

Legal Regulations

  • Ministerial Order No. 1 of 1998 regarding the environmental assessment of projects
  • Ministerial Order No. (4) of 2021 regarding the fees of the licenses and services provided by the Supreme Council for Environment
  • Law (7) of year 2022 regarding the environment and all ministerial decisions and laws under it

Fees

  • 100 BD : Initial Assessment ; or BD 200 for Fast track applications
  • 200 BD : Initial Assessment - fast-track
  • 100 BD : Study Scope Phase ; or BD 500 for Fast Truck Application
  • 500 BD : Study Scope Phase- Fast Truck Application
  • 4000 BD : Environmental Impact Assessment Phase
  • 6000 BD : Environmental Impact Assessment Phase - Fast Truck

  • 10 Working Days : Provided that all required data and documents are received Except for projects subject to the preparation of an Environmental Impact Assessment Study
