This service aims to study and evaluate the environmental impact of licensing construction and operation of petrol stations, in accordance with the standards of protecting the environment and its natural resources

Service Conditions

  • Having an active commercial register (for commercial use) in the Kingdom of Bahrain

Legal Regulations

  • Ministerial Order No. 1 of 1998 regarding the environmental assessment of projects
  • Ministerial Order No. (4) of 2021 regarding the fees of the licenses and services provided by the Supreme Council for Environment
  • Law (7) of year 2022 regarding the environment and all ministerial decisions and laws under it

Fees

  • 30 BD : Initial Assessment ; or BD 200 for fast track applications
  • 100 BD : Study Scope Phase ; or BD 500 for Fast Truck Application
  • 4000 BD : Environmental Impact Assessment Phase ; or BD 6000 for Fast Truck Application
  • Note : Depend on the nature and size of the activity and the extent of the need to submit an environmental impact assessment study

Service Processes

  • Filling out the application data form
  • Submitting the application to Supreme Council for Environment, with all required documents attached
  • Project site visits for inspecting the site location and the sensitive receptors surrounding to it
  • Finalizing all required data related to the project assessment
  • Detailed environmental impact assessment study (if needed)
  • Payment of fees
  • Publishing of license if all the environmental requirements and conditions met
If a detailed environmental impact assessment study is needed, the following procedure should be done:
  • Issuing a letter to the applicant specifying the general outline of the scope of the required study with a copy of the approved list of environmental consultancy offices
  • The applicant will hire one of the approved environmental consultancy offices for submitting to the Supreme Council for the Environment a proposal of the scope related to the study
  • If the submitted scope of the study being approved, the applicant and the environmental consultancy office will be notified that the scope is approved and will be requested to start preparing the study
  • The environmental consultancy office will prepare the study and then will submit it to the Supreme Council for the Environment for reviewing
  • Introducing the project with the study outcomes to the concerned authorities in the Kingdom to obtain their views on the project
  • Collecting the responses, requirements, and observations of the concerned authorities
  • Take the appropriate action on the request according to the environmental assessment outcomes
