Ensure that shipments of fertilizers and agricultural soil conditioners / enhancers conform to the specifications when the consignments arrive at the customs ports
In accordance with Article (30) of the Executive Bylaw of the Fertilizers and Agricultural Soil Conditioners Law, the Plant Wealth Directorate has the right to take samples of fertilizers and agricultural soil conditioners upon their arrival to the Kingdom’s ports. The purpose is to verify their natural properties, constituent elements (in per cent), and their compliance with the data and conditions stipulated in the bylaw.
Required Attachments
- Copy of the registration certificate for agricultural fertilizers and soil conditioners issued by the Soil and Fertilizers Department
- Form for the samples taken / extracted from the shipment. This form is issued by the Quarantine and Plant Protection Department.
- Copy of the import license (copy of the certificate) issued by the Quarantine and Plant Protection Department

- Resolution No. (89) of year 2006 issuing the executive regulations of the fertilizer (law) fertilizer

Service Processes
- The Soil and Fertilizers Department’s recommendation to take/ not to take samples from shipments of fertilizers and agricultural soil conditioners upon the arrival of consignments at the customs ports
- Take samples from shipments of fertilizers and agricultural soil conditioners upon the arrival of the consignments at the customs ports, and recording the shipment data in a special form
- Record the sample data in a special record, and send an analysis request attached to the sample
- Collect fees (private lab), analyze sample, and send results to a soil chemist/soil specialist
- Review the results of the analysis, recommend the release / non-release of the shipment of fertilizers or agricultural soil conditioners.
