Request to obtain a license to act as a Sharia marriage official service-this service enables the issuance of a license for the applicant to act as a Sharia marriage official to finalise marriage contracts.
Required Attachments
- Birth certificate
- Copy of the Identity Card
- Copy of the passport
- Academic qualifications
- Certificate of Good Conduct
- Medical Fitness certificate
- A recommendation letter issued by three Sharia judges, each of whom is appointed at the High Courts, from the same district to which the applicant is affiliated to

- Ministerial Resolution No. (1) of 2016 regarding the bylaw of marriage officers and the provisions of the attestation of documents related to personal status affairs

Service Processes
- The opening of the applications for obtaining marriage officer licenses will be announced in the Official Gazette
- Submit the application at the Ministry of Justice building, along with all required documents
- Submit a certificate of good conduct and a recommendation letter from a judge
- When all documents are submitted, the applications are submitted to the Minister of Justice, Islamic Affairs, and Waqf for consideration according to the relevant legal requirements
- In the case of approval, the license card will be issued and delivered to its holder
