Special power of attorney

Notarizing a special power of attorney to attend courts, police stations, and the Public Prosecution.

Required Attachments

  • Original passport or Identity Card (passport for foreign nationals)
  • If one of the parties is an entity, the memorandum of association, an extract of the Commercial Registration details and the decision of the board of directors or partners, or the Commercial Registration of the sole proprietorship and its registry status
  • The original powers of attorney if the representation is by proxy and in the event of foreign powers of attorney, the documents must be notarized by the Bahrain Ministry of Foreign Affairs or with an Apostille stamp
  • Completed “Know Your Customer” form by the principal

  • Decree-Law No. (14) of 1971 regarding notarization
  • Laws and resolutions related to the Notary Directorate, Civil Code and Law of Advocacy
  • ministerial Resolution No. (28) of 2021 regarding the procedures for prohibiting and combating money laundering and terrorist financing, the illegal transfer of funds across borders in notary work, audit oversight and control and prohibiting dealing with terrorist individuals or entities.

  • Visit the head office of the Notary Directorate or the Directorate’s branch located within the Ministry of Justice building
  • This service is provided by a private notary, and a list of certified private notaries can be found on the National Portal
