Submit a request to open a new warehouse or storage facility

Warehouses represent the real estate and all related accessories, including equipment and devices, provide a public service of economic value in the Kingdom of Bahrain whether owned by a public or private entity, and whether managed by Customs Affairs, a government entity or another licensed body, be they natural, legal or an investment body.An establishment is classified as either a private warehouse, a public warehouse, or a storage facility.

Service Conditions

  • Practicing a general warehouse activity: Depositing goods for the account of third parties (importers).
  • Practicing a private warehouse activity: Depositing the goods of the warehouse owner.
  • Practicing a warehouse activity: storing and withdrawing goods temporarily according to one of the customs conditions, and he must be a freight agent.

Required Attachments

  • A letter to His Excellency the President of Customs to submit the request to the higher management to issue a license to establish a warehouse by His Excellency the Minister of Interior.
  • Copies of the identity cards of the warehouse owners.
  • A copy of the commercial register.
  • Land lease contract.
  • Building permit.
  • Company contact information.
  • Engineering map of the warehouse.

Legal Regulations

  • Resolution No. 14 of 2003 regarding the rules and conditions regulating warehouses inside or outside Customs Affairs, as well as the deposit of goods in a status of suspended customs tax (duties).

Service Processes
