Permit for the entry of imported food products

Examination and inspection of all food imported through land, sea and air ports. Permission to enter is granted after ensuring overall safety, validity and compliance with the approved specifications and standards.

Required Attachments

  • Imported Food Inspection Application Form.
  • Packing list
  • Copy of the delivery order or bill of lading.
  • The required health certificate.

Fees

The health inspection fees for imported food products and tobacco and its derivatives are determined by weight and the number of shipping lists as follows:

  • 8 BD : 1-1000 Kilogram
  • 9 BD : 1000- 5000 Kilogram
  • 10 BD : 5000 Kilogram

Extra working fees:

  • 5 BD : for each 3 working hours
  • 10 BD : for each 3 hours after 8 PM

Service Processes

  • Importer (or a representative) fills out the health inspection form and attaches the required documents
  • Location of the shipment inspection is determined
  • Payment of health inspection fees (and additional work fees in case the shipment is inspected outside the port)
  • Health inspection procedures commence
  • Shipment is released (if there is conformity with the specifications and standards)
  • Shipment is seized (if there is non-conformity with the specifications and standards)
  • Payment of additional work fees (if any)
