Supervision of the destruction of tobacco items

Certain tobacco items that are damaged, expired and unfit for consumption are destroyed in the garbage disposal area (Askar Burials) at the request of the owner of the goods. The process is carried out with the supervision of public health specialists from the Anti-Smoking and Tobacco Control Group

Required Attachments

  • Letter requesting destruction from the owner of the goods, clearly stating the reason behind the request.
  • A receipt of destroying the items.
  • A receipt of the certificate of destroying the items.
  • A form shall be filled for such service.

Legal Regulations

  • Law No. (8) of 2009 regarding anti-smoking and tobacco of all its types.
  • Law No. (34) of 2018 concerning the public health.
  • The ministerial edict No. 2 for the year 2011, issuing the requirements that must be provided in restaurants and coffee shops and other places that serve tobacco and its derivatives.
  • Ministerial edict No. (3) of 2011 regarding controlling ads that promotes tobacco items. Ministerial edict No.(58) of 2010 when Indian pan was banned.

Fees

  • 8 BD : for each 3 hours; BD5 as the fees for supervising the process of destruction for each 3 working hours+ BD3 for issuing the concerned certificate.
