Issuance of export and re-export food stuff certificates

Issuing of export and re-export certificates of food stuffs, whether domestic or imported, after inspection at a warehouse or food factory to ensure the goods meet the necessary health requirements and are fit for consumption.

Required Attachments

  • A letter to request the inspection of foodstuff to be authorized for re-export should be submitted via email (fcs@health.gov.bh)
  • An invoice by the local supplier and/or manufacturer stating the cost of the food stuff to be inspected

Service Processes

Export certification procedure:
  • A request letter from the exporting company to the importing country (the letter shall include an explanation of the type of product)
  • Print the health certificate (must include the logos of the GCC)
  • Attend the Ministry’s headquarters in person with the required documents (health certificate and letter)
  • The request is signed by a local factory specialist
  • The request is then signed by the inspector of the local factory unit
  • The document receives the seal of the Food Control Department
  • A serial number is given for the health certificate
  • An amount of 3 BD is then paid for each certificate
  • Provide a certificate of validity of marine product shipment
Re-export certification procedure:
  • The company must write a letter to re-export the goods to the importing country, explaining the type of product via email (Fcs@health.gov.bh)
  • Print the health certificate (certificate must include the required logos to be sent to the respective countries)
  • An inspector is sent to inspect the goods
  • Inspector to sign the health certificate after the inception is complete.
  • Attend the Ministry’s headquarters in person with the required documents (health certificate and letter)
  • Application is signed by the inspector
  • The documents receives the seal of the Food Control Department
  • A serial number is given for the health certificate
  • An amount of 3 BD is then paid for each certificate
