Permanent and temporary shelter services in care and shelter centers
This service provides permanent shelter and care for citizens who have a severe mental or physical disability, including cerebral palsy and multiple disabilities. The shelter service includes providing medical, psychological, recreational, and living services, in addition to physiotherapy. It also provides the opportunity for their families and children to visit them.
Service Conditions
- Must be Bahraini
- Must have a physical disability, cerebral palsy, or multiple disabilities.
- Their age must range from 4 to 20 years old, especially for males.
- Must be free from contagious diseases.
- Medical examinations and the findings of the social and psychological investigation should prove that there is a need for physical therapy.
- There is no one to take care of him/her
Required Attachments
- Medical report in Arabic approved by the competent authority specifying the type and degree of disability
- Vaccination certificate
- Birth certificate
- Copy of the child’s ID card
- Personal photo of the child
- Previous educational certificates (if any)

Service Processes
- The accommodation service request is submitted through the service request system in the social centers
- The request should fulfill all the requirements and conditions. These should be uploaded to the system.
- Verifying documents and then transferring the request to the concerned department (the Shelter/Accommodation Department at NBB Home for Disabled Children).
- The request is examined. Upon reaching a decision, the beneficiary is informed if the application has been accepted or rejected.
