Family counseling
Obtaining family counseling by arranging a session between a counselor and one or multiple family members. This session must take place within a completely professional framework characterized by privacy, trust, mutual respect and unconditional acceptance. It has the aim of exchanging information, developing appropriate guided action plans, and taking actions which would help the individual or group to arrive at a clearer understanding of themselves and especially to develop self-esteem, resilience, and good mental healthThe Family Guidance Office aims to play a leading role in providing preventive developmental guidance services and resolving the problems that Bahraini families may face.
Required Attachments
- Court letter (if any) if the case has been transferred from the family courts
- Request for a transfer to family counseling if the case has been forwarded from another authorized entity

Service Processes
- A person wishing to benefit from family counseling services can go directly to one of the offices in the Social Development Centers in all Governorates of the Kingdom of Bahrain
- The transfer request is received. This may originate from a court decision, or a recommendation for counseling by the police, the Supreme Council for Women, Public Prosecution, or other entities.
- The Family Counseling Office contacts the concerned parties to set an appointment to provide counseling sessions tailored to the specific needs of the individual
