Issuance of a permit for enrolment (wife/husband/children)

Through this service, employers can apply for an admission permit for family members enrolled in foreign workers for their spouse and children (up to 24 years of age).

Service Conditions

  • The facility, the applicant, the foreign worker, or the entrant must not have any administrative notes that prevent the submission of a new work permit.
  • The enrollee must not have a valid work permit.
  • If the grace period expires, the applicant must obtain an extension of the grace period at the Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs.
  • The nationality of the worker must be among the nationalities authorized to be recruited from abroad.
  • The age of the entrants (children) should not exceed 24 years
  • The applicant must be registered in the system as an authorized or responsible person with the authority on the respective CR or Unit
  • The foreign employee’s monthly net income (as per the SIO registration) must be BD 400 or more
  • In case the employees dependents are over the age of 24 years, the procedure of issuing the residence permit and renewing it is done directly through the Nationality Passports and Residency Affairs (NPRA), depending on the conditions and regulations of the department
  • Enrollers who hold an ID card number must enter the same card number into the entry at the time of application
  • For those born in Bahrain or those issued with a new passport in Bahrain, they should first open a new file or update the data at the Nationality Passports and Residency Affairs (NPRA). (The identity card number of a new-born in Bahrain can be obtained from the birth certificate)
  • All documents must be JPEG format

Required Attachments

  • A copy of the birth certificate of the enrolled person (in Arabic or English): If the birth certificate is translated, it must be certified by the embassy of the country of origin in Bahrain and by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain
  • Copy of passport of the wife/Husband
  • Copy of the employees Identity Card, if available
  • Copy of dependent’s passport: The passport should have all the information and alterations or updates, as well as the page that states the father or spouse’s name (where applicable). The passport must be valid for at least 6 months, but it is highly recommended to have it valid for at least 2 years before applying
  • Copy of Marriage certificate in Arabic or English: The certificate should be certified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the employee’s country and the Embassy of the Kingdom of Bahrain in the employee’s country (applicable to Arab nationalities; this includes non-Arab nationals if the husband’s/Wife’s name in the husband’s/Wife’s passport is not mentioned) Excluding Indian, Pakistani, and Bangladeshi passport Husband/Wife name must be written in the passport.
  • Copy of no objection letter from the dependent’s father/mother or copy of divorce certificate and a copy of statement proving the mother’s/ Father custody of the dependents or copy of death certificate if the father/Mother death. The letter or certificate should be certified by Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Kingdom’s Embassy in native country

Private sector:

  • The bill of the last 2 months of the same address
  • If the electricity bill is not yet issued, you need to upload a print- out from the electricity and water authority indicating an opening for that specific account
  • If electricity bill is not your, you must an upload the lease contract.
  • The bill should not be a final notification to cut the electricity supply
  • Current account guarantee deposit bonds are not accepted expect for the newly registered record

Service Processes

  • Log to the extraction worker’s site using the employers password or attend any of the Authority’s branches with the required documents
  • Apply for issuing a permit through the Expatriate Labour Management System of the Labour Market Regulatory Authority, fill all the data on the page, and attaching the required documents
  • The application shall be decided on by the authority and the relevant entities, and the employer shall be able to pay the fees after approval
  • If there is any difference or lack of documentation, requests will be returned for correction within 7 working days
