Issuance of a work permit for a Bahraini’s foreign wife
Through this service, employers can apply to issue a work permit to Bahrainis wife.
Service Conditions
- The establishment, the applicant or the enrollee must not have any administrative notes that prevent the submission of a new work permit.
- The enrollee must have a work permit valid for at least 6 months.
- A certificate of no objection to work from the Bahraini husband must be attached.
- In the event that applications for specialized professions are submitted, a statement of approval from the professional body must be attached, such as (the Ministry of Education, the National Authority for Regulating Health Professions and Services, the Ministry of Labor and Social Development, the Engineering Professions Regulatory Committee).
Required Attachments
- A copy of the Employee’s passport: The passport should have all the information and alterations or updates in addition to the page that states the father or spouse’s name (for workers of Indian, Pakistani, and Bengali nationalities) and the page that contains the old passport number. The passport must be valid for at least 6 months preferable to have it valid for at least 2 years before applying.
- A copy of the non-commercial institutions and non-governmental organizations.
- A copy of the employee ID card
- A copy of the work contract or a letter of a job offer between the employer and the expatriate employee (one or two pages max). The job Contract must be on an official letterhead paper of the company or government. It must include the name of the employer and the establishment address, the name of the expatriate employee, passport number, nationality, occupation, salary, length of work and notice of resignation. It should be signed by the employer and the expatriate employee, and it should stamped/signed by the employer. It should state that the offer requirements exist only if granted the work permit.
- A copy of No Objection Certificate from the relevant entities.
- A copy of No Objection Certificate from the spouse.
- All documents must be JPEG format
- Private sector: The bill of the last 2 months of the same address. If the electricity bill is not yet issued, you need to upload a print- out from the electricity and water authority indicating an opening for that specific account. If paying electricity bills does not fall within your responsibilities, you must download the lease contract. The bill should not be a final notification to cut the electricity supply. Current account guarantee deposit bonds are not accepted expect for the newly registered record.

Fees
- 100 BD : Depends on the status of the expatriate worker and the duration of the chosen work permit - one-year work permit fee
- 72 BD : primary health-care fees for one year
- 250 BD : for a year for work permits aside from Bahrainisation rate
- 5 BD : administrative fees accounted as part of the monthly work permit invoice

Service Processes
- Attend any of the Authority’s branches with the required documents
- Apply for issuing a permit through the Expatriate Labour Management System
- The application shall be decided and approved to collect the worker’s biological data
- Log to the supportive website using the employers password and attach the required document
- The relevant department submits the application, and the release will be through the expatriate system in the Ministry of Labour
