The expatriate employee Absence from Work Notice
This service enables the employers to inform the Labour Market Regulatory Authority if any of the employees has been absent for 15 days or more without any reason or justification.
Service Conditions
- The work permit must be valid for at least 30 days.
- The establishment must be active.
- The establishment’s CR (Commercial Register) must be valid.
- The employee must have been absent for 15 days or more without any reason or without informing the employer.
- There should not be any violation registered at LMRA or any official entities.
- The reported employee will be recorded in the Bahrainization system of the employer until he leaves the country or is being transferred to another employer.
- The reported employee is not allowed to be transferred to another employer or employed again to work with the same employer after formally approving the notification by the LMRA.
- The notice cannot be cancelled after one month of the submission date.
- If the expatriate escaped when arrived at the airport you will need to first report it to the airport police and attach proof of the escape.
Required Attachments
- Employment contract of the reported absent employee
- Applicant ID card
- Employee ID card or passport
- Evidence of the employee attendance in recent days (attendance for the last 3 months)
- Salary payment (salary slip for the last 3 months)
- Notice of Absence from work form
- Electricity bill (except for farms, sailors, vehicles, and stalls where it’s optional to submit it)
Legal Regulations
- Article (1) of Resolution No. (77) of 2008 regarding the obligations of the employer if the expatriate employees leave his/her employment in violation of the conditions of the work permit.

Service Processes
- Download a notification form about the foreign worker leaving work and fill in the required information
- Visit the Customer Services Department at the Labor Market Regulatory Authority and fill out a form (notification of the foreign worker leaving work). The form must be filled out by the authorized person in charge of the organization, such as a human resources manager. The authorization must be by the responsible person
- Log in to the support website using the employer’s password and attach the required documents
- The concerned department submits a request to leave work through the Expatriate Employment Management System
- The request will be broadcast within 30 days
