Replace Lost / Damaged ID Card
These services provided by the Information and e-Government Authority allow citizens and residents to issue a replacement for an ID card if it is lost or damaged.
Service Conditions
- In the case of the presence of a general representative or relative, it is necessary to present the original and valid passport of the personal number holder
- While using the eService, If some specific requirements are not met, a message will be displayed with the required document to be attached within the application.
If some specific requirements are not met when entering the e-service, a message will be displayed stating the required document to be attached to the application. Among these documents are the following:
- Residence declaration
- copy of the identity card of the property owner (front and back)
- marriage contract legally recognized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and its equivalent from the Ministry of Justice for non-Bahrainis
- copy of the husband’ ID card (front and back)
- copy of the wife’s ID card (front and back)
- birth certificate
- attaching legal custody or custody agreement
Bahrainis
- Bahraini person holder of personal number
- ID card should not be expired
- Holds a valid Bahraini passport
- In the event that a family member travels, the father or mother must attend to submit a request to issue a replacement for a lost/damaged identity card
- In the event of the presence of a general broker or one of the acquaintances, it is required to have an authorization letter from the applicant with the presentation of the original valid passport of the owner of the personal number
Non-Bahrainis registered with the Labor Market Regulatory Authority
- Customer prerequisites
- Customer must be registered in the population registry system (general secretariat)
- Customer must be registered in the population registry system under the same unit number or commercial registry of the worker (special clearance)
- Customer should be Bahraini and listed under the same unit number or commercial register of the worker
- Customer must be owner of the commercial register, even if he is not Bahraini
- Customer is not suspended from carrying out the task of clearing the identity card
- Book an appointment through the electronic appointment system
Prerequisites for the worker
- Worker must be non-Bahraini
- Worker must be registered in Labor Market Regulatory Authority system
- Worker must be listed under same unit number or commercial register of the (customer) in the case of the private agent only
- Worker must be present in Bahrain
- Worker have a personal number
- Worker have a valid residence permit as per the Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs Regulations
Domestic Workers
- To have a personal number
- To be in Bahrain
- That the person belongs to the category of domestic workers
- Valid residence as in the Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs Regulations
Required Attachments
- Declaration of residence
- A copy of the identity card of the owner of the residence (front and back)
- Personal photo
- A marriage contract certified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and an equivalency from the Ministry of Justice for non-Bahrainis
- A copy of the spouses identity card (front and back)
- Copy of the wifes identity card (front and back)
- Birth certificate
- Attach custody or custody agreement

- Resolution No. (16) for the year 2011 on amending certain provisions from Decree No. (1) for the year 2007 regarding the executive regulations of the Identity Card Law No. 46 of 2006

Service Processes
- log in through the eService
- Fill out the required details and attach a personal photo, and additional documents (if necessary)
- Pay the service fee online and submit the application
- Request processed by the relevant employee and ID card printed
- Card delivery to the residential address via Bahrain Post
- Book an appointment through the online service
- Go to the front desks at the appointment time
- Show the required documents (if necessary) to the relevant employee
- Verify that the requirements are met through the e-system
- Pay the service fee
- Request processed, ID card printed, activated and delivered to the applicant
