Reclassification of Tourism Facilities

This service allows hotel owners who have tourist licenses to submit a request to reclassify their hotel and change its star category according to the classification guide, whether for a request to obtain a higher star rating or a lower star rating, and the facility’s classification can also be changed from a hotel to furnished apartments, and vice versa.

Required Attachments

  • An official letter from the facility stating the classification request
  • A copy of the property ownership deed
  • Fill out the reclassification request form

  • Edict No. 154 of 2017 regarding the electronic tourism statistics system
  • Edict No. 109 of 2018 amending Article No. 2 of Edict No. 196 of 2017 regarding hotel service fees
  • Hotel Classification Manual in accordance with Edict No. (4) of 2015 regarding the classification of hotels
  • Edict No. 1 of 2018 fixing fees for licence issuance and renewal for tourism services
  • Edict No. (106) of 2015 amending Edict No. (4) of 1994 regarding the amendment of hotel service fees
  • Edict No. (37) of 2015 amending some provisions of Edict No. (2) of 1989 regarding the conditions and procedures for granting and renewing licences to engage in tourism services business
  • Decree-Law No. 15 of 1986 on the regulation of tourism and its amendments
  • Edict No. 109 of 2018 amending Article No. 2 of Edict No. 196 of 2017 regarding hotel service fees

Fees

  • The new licence fee will be applicable after the approval of the new classification of the facility according to its type and category
