Submitting a mediation request (according to the Chamber’s jurisdiction under the parties’ agreement)
Mediation at the Bahrain Chamber for Dispute Resolution (the Chamber) is an alternative means of settling a dispute in which the parties give jurisdiction to the Chamber by signing an agreement that enables the Chamber, according to its rules, to appoint an independent and impartial mediator who will manage the negotiations between the parties to reach an agreed upon settlement.
Service Conditions
- Submit a mediation request in accordance with the requirements of the Rules of Mediation of the Bahrain Chamber for Dispute Resolution
- Pay the Mediation filing fees
Required Attachments
- Fill out a mediation application.
- A copy of the mediation agreement between the parties.
- One or more statement summarizing the nature and circumstances of the dispute and the value of any monetary claim.
- In the event of disagreement on naming the mediator, the parties shall submit a statement specifying the qualities that the parties deem necessary to have in the mediator.
The request for mediation shall include or be accompanied by the following:
- The registration fee stipulated under the mediation rules of the Bahrain Chamber for Dispute Resolution
- A copy of the mediation agreement between parties
- The name, postal address, e-mail address, and telephone number of each party to the mediation and of their legal representatives, if any.
- One or more statements outlining the nature and circumstances of the dispute and the value of any financial claims.
- Either the name, postal address, e-mail address, and (if known) telephone number of the mediator nominated by the parties, or, if a mediator has not been agreed, a statement of specifications for what constitutes an acceptable mediator.

Fees
The Chamber’s administration fees include the following:
- A non-refundable mediation filing fee of $500 (equivalent to BD189)
- A case management Fee set by the Chamber not exceeding $5,000. (equivalent to 1,885/- Bahraini Dinars)

Service Processes
- Should an agreement to settle the dispute through mediation exist, the parties shall submit a written request for mediation to the Chamber in accordance with the requirements of Article (2-1) of the Mediation Rules of the Bahrain Chamber for Dispute Resolution.
- The parties shall pay the mediation filing fee in cash, by cheque made payable to the Chamber, by bank transfer to the Chamber’s account, or via a credit card.
- After verifying that the requirements for filing a mediation request have been met, the Chamber communicates with the parties to inform them of the commencement of the mediation procedures.
