Housing Services

Since its establishment, the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning has accommodated thousands of requests from citizens, both for residential projects and finance services. This enabled thousands of Bahraini families to receive suitable housing. The ministry forges ahead with plans and programs aimed at providing housing services to citizens with limited incomes.

The Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning offers a number of housing services in line with the Kingdom’s constitution and particularly Article (9) - F which states “the State shall endeavor to provide housing for citizens with limited income” (PDF, 974KB, 30 Pages, Arabic Only). Services include:

1. Housing units
2. Owned apartments
3. Residential plots
4. Housing finance (buying - building)
5. ‘Mazaya’ scheme
6. Temporary housing
7. ‘Masaken’ scheme
