Bahrain Digital Government Journey

The Government of Bahrain is a pioneer in the deployment of advanced technologies for the benefit of citizens, residents, public entities, and businesses. The Kingdom’s leadership is actively pursuing steps to promote digital transformation in the public sector, focusing on service-oriented and citizen-centric operating models.

Following the direction of the Kingdom’s leadership, the Kingdom has seen an incredible uptake in the Government of Bahrain’s understanding and usage of new digital technologies, as well as an increase in the use of emerging technologies and broadening the reach of its national digital transformation initiatives.

The Government’s Digital Transformation Journey is being spearheaded by the Ministerial Committee for Information Technology and Communication (MCICT) and supported by the National ICT Governance Committee (ICTGC), which monitors the coordination and implementation of strategic digital initiatives across the Kingdom.

The Kingdom’s digital government journey over the decades depicts a specific focus on the upcoming digital government directions that will revolutionize how the government interacts with citizens and businesses.
